ABSTRACT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Back\u00adground:<\/strong> One of the cli\u00adni\u00adcally rele\u00advant pro\u00adblems of Inter\u00adnet use is the pheno\u00adme\u00adnon of Inter\u00adnet addic\u00adtion. Con\u00adside\u00adring the fact that there is ample evi\u00addence for the rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip bet\u00adween attach\u00adment style and sub\u00adstance abuse, it stands to rea\u00adson that attach\u00adment theory can also make an important cont\u00adri\u00adbu\u00adtion to the under\u00adstan\u00adding of the patho\u00adge\u00adne\u00adsis of Inter\u00adnet addic\u00adtion.<\/p>\n

Objec\u00adtive:<\/strong>The aim of this study was to examine people\u2019s ten\u00addency toward patho\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal Inter\u00adnet usage in rela\u00adtion to their attach\u00adment style.<\/p>\n

Methods:<\/strong> An online sur\u00advey was con\u00adduc\u00adted. Soci\u00adode\u00admo\u00adgra\u00adphic data, attach\u00adment style (Bie\u00adle\u00adfeld ques\u00adti\u00adon\u00adnaire part\u00adnership expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons), sym\u00adptoms of Inter\u00adnet addic\u00adtion (scale for online addic\u00adtion for adults), used Web-based ser\u00advices, and online rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip moti\u00adves (Cyber Rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip Motive Scale, CRMS-D<\/span>) were asses\u00adsed. In order to con\u00adfirm the fin\u00addings, a study using the Ror\u00adschach test was also con\u00adduc\u00adted.<\/p>\n

Results:<\/strong> In total, 245 sub\u00adjects were recrui\u00adted. Par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpants with inse\u00adcure attach\u00adment style showed a hig\u00adher ten\u00addency to patho\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal Inter\u00adnet usage com\u00adpa\u00adred with secu\u00adrely atta\u00adched par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpants. An ambi\u00adva\u00adlent attach\u00adment style was par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlarly asso\u00adcia\u00adted with patho\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal Inter\u00adnet usage. Esca\u00adpist and social-compensatory moti\u00adves played an important role for inse\u00adcu\u00adrely atta\u00adched sub\u00adjects. Howe\u00adver, there were no signi\u00adfi\u00adcant effects with respect to Web-based ser\u00advices and apps used. Results of the ana\u00adly\u00adsis of the Ror\u00adschach pro\u00adto\u00adcol with 16 sub\u00adjects corr\u00ado\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adted these results. Users with patho\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal Inter\u00adnet use fre\u00adquently showed signs of infan\u00adtile rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip struc\u00adtu\u00adres in the con\u00adtext of social groups. This refers to the results of the Web-based sur\u00advey, in which inter\u00adper\u00adso\u00adnal rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhips were the result of an inse\u00adcure attach\u00adment style.<\/p>\n
