This study was under\u00adta\u00adken to iden\u00adtify the extent of <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span> by New Zea\u00adland men\u00adtal health\u00adcare pro\u00adfes\u00adsio\u00adnals and needs for fur\u00adther gui\u00addance regar\u00adding this&nbsp;issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mate\u00adri\u00adals and Methods:<\/strong> All (1850) psych\u00adia\u00adtrists, cli\u00adni\u00adcal psy\u00adcho\u00adlo\u00adgists and psy\u00adcho\u00adthe\u00adra\u00adpists working in New Zea\u00adland were elec\u00adtro\u00adni\u00adcally sur\u00adveyed about their expe\u00adri\u00adence of <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span> and know\u00adledge about the asso\u00adcia\u00adted prac\u00adtice of therapist-targeted goog\u00adling (<span class=\"caps\">TTG<\/span>). Due to ethics and adver\u00adti\u00adsing restric\u00adtions, only one indi\u00adrect approach was made to poten\u00adtial par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> Eighty eight cli\u00adni\u00adci\u00adans (5%) respon\u00added to the sur\u00advey invi\u00adta\u00adtion. More than half (53.4%, N=47) of respond\u00adents repor\u00adtedly enga\u00adged in <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span>, but only a mino\u00adrity (10.3%, N=9) had ever recei\u00adved any edu\u00adca\u00adtion about the sub\u00adject. Rea\u00adsons for under\u00adta\u00adking <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span> inclu\u00added faci\u00adli\u00adta\u00adting the the\u00adra\u00adpeutic pro\u00adcess, infor\u00adma\u00adtion being in the public domain and miti\u00adga\u00adting risks. Rea\u00adsons against under\u00adta\u00adking <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span> inclu\u00added impair\u00adment of the the\u00adra\u00adpeutic rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip, unethi\u00adcal inva\u00adsion of pri\u00advacy and con\u00adcerns regar\u00adding the accu\u00adracy and cli\u00adni\u00adcal rele\u00advance of online infor\u00adma\u00adtion. Two-thirds of par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpants repor\u00adted being the sub\u00adject of&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">TTG<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dis\u00adcus\u00adsion:<\/strong> New Zea\u00adland psych\u00adia\u00adtrists, cli\u00adni\u00adcal psy\u00adcho\u00adlo\u00adgists and psy\u00adcho\u00adthe\u00adra\u00adpists are enga\u00adging in <span class=\"caps\">PTG<\/span> with limi\u00adted edu\u00adca\u00adtion and pro\u00adfes\u00adsio\u00adnal gui\u00addance.
