Even though a gro\u00adwing num\u00adber of sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic lite\u00adra\u00adture and also main\u00adstream media high\u00adlight pro\u00adble\u00adma\u00adtic smart\u00adphone use as a serious health pro\u00adblem, there is only little rese\u00adarch on this&nbsp;issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objec\u00adtive:<\/strong> The aim of this study was to examine this pheno\u00adme\u00adnon with a focus on attachment-specific dif\u00adfe\u00adren\u00adces bet\u00adween stu\u00addents with and without pro\u00adble\u00adma\u00adtic smart\u00adphone&nbsp;use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong> A sur\u00advey was car\u00adried out on all enrol\u00adled stu\u00addents of the Sig\u00admund Freud Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Vienna. The Smart\u00adphone Addic\u00adtion Scale (<span class=\"caps\">SPAS<\/span>) was used to dif\u00adfe\u00adren\u00adtiate bet\u00adween stu\u00addents with and without pro\u00adble\u00adma\u00adtic smart\u00adphone use. The attach\u00adment style was asses\u00adsed using the Bie\u00adle\u00adfeld Part\u00adnership Expec\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons Ques\u00adti\u00adon\u00adnaire (<span class=\"caps\">BFPE<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> Of the total sam\u00adple, 75 of the stu\u00addents (15.1%) showed a pro\u00adble\u00adma\u00adtic smart\u00adphone use. A posi\u00adtive cor\u00adre\u00adla\u00adtion bet\u00adween exces\u00adsive smart\u00adphone usage and an inse\u00adcure attach\u00adment style was&nbsp;found.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dis\u00adcus\u00adsion:<\/strong> The\u00adrapy for pro\u00adble\u00adma\u00adtic smart\u00adphone use should be car\u00adried out in light of patient\u2019s attach\u00adment style.
